What we collect, and why
When you visit
Like any website, our hosting provider receives technical information needed to send you the page and keep the site secure: your IP address, browser type and the page requested. We don't use this to identify you or build a profile.
When you email us
We receive your email address and message. We use them to reply and, for corrections, to check and fix the page. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the site accurate. We delete correspondence once it's no longer needed, and within two years at most.
Who processes data for us
- Cloudflare hosts and delivers the site (Cloudflare privacy policy).
- Google Workspace handles our email (Google privacy policy).
Both may process data outside the EEA and UK under the safeguards set out in their policies.
Under-18s
Many of our readers are students under 18. You can use the whole site without telling us anything about yourself. If you email us, please don't include more personal details than you need to.
Your rights
Under the GDPR (Ireland and the EU) and the UK GDPR, you can ask to see, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Email info@sami.ie.
You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission (Ireland) or the Information Commissioner's Office (UK).
Changes to this page
The "Checked" date at the top shows when this page was last reviewed. We'll update it before any change to what the site collects.
